Sunday Ceremony Main Theme/Keynote Speaker:

Sensei Eugene Imai

Eugene bio

Our theme for this year is “Expanding Our Hearts: Strength in Diversity.”

Meishusama once said, “Instead of imposing our own color upon others, we want to help each individual’s own color to become brighter and more beautiful.” We can honor his words by expanding our hearts, appreciating the differences amongst us, and respecting each other’s ideas and talents with compassion. America has become a great country because of the diversity of its people, cultures, traditions, climates, natural resources, and geography. Let us support one another as we grow in our perceptions and become more mindful of our words, deeds, and inherent diversity, which strengthens our unity.

I believe Shumei America will achieve greater success in sharing Meishusama’s vision through integrating genuine cultural understanding and diversity amongst our Shumei members and staff.
